Jaydon's Story

IMG_5090(1)_edited.jpg

Jaydon Smart's professional journey begins when he attempted to enter the workforce, but he faced issues early on when traditional jobs couldn't accommodate his needs due to his cerebral palsy. This initial setback, though disheartening for Jaydon, became a spark to take an alternate path to his dream of employment. After a family member egged him on, Jaydon took on the challenge of entrepreneurship, and then just over a year ago, Brisbane Smart Vending was born. He viewed it as an opportunity to forge his own path where he could use his unwavering determination and passion, rather than being defined by limitations, and is now working to grow his business.

The path to establishing Brisbane Smart Vending was one of blood, sweat and tears, marked by trials and tribulations that ultimately pushed Jaydon to continue trying. A significant turning point came with the invaluable support of the National Disability Insurance Scheme, which provided support without which he couldn't have started this journey and this has enabled him to fill in any physical-related gaps to help Jaydon achieve his goals. Despite not being able to have a traditional education as a child due to barriers from his disability, Jaydon has embraced further learning as a mature adult and has expanded his business knowledge exponentially. To this day, his passion is evident in his hands-on approach to every facet of Brisbane Smart Vending's internal workings, from logistics to client communication. As he strives to expand his business, Jaydon proves that with enough resilience, support from those around us and a drive to succeed, success is achievable regardless of any challenges; disability-related or not.

With Brisbane Smart Vending, I'm not just building a business; I'm proving to myself and others that regardless of adversity that success is achievable for anyone. - Jaydon Smart
